Steve is a writer, director, actor and producer. His first love is comedy. He has performed as a standup and sketch comedian at venues such as the Comedy Store, The Improv and HBO Workspace.  Steve had guest star roles on "Days of our Lives" and "Santa Barbara," and recurring roles on "The Attack of the Show," with Olivia Munn. He also directed the pilot episode of "The Gary Carter Show," starring the Hall of Fame catcher, and the short film "The Secret Life of Rocky Perone." As host of a show about classic Hollywood, Steve has interviewed such stars as Tony Curtis, Mamie Van Doren, David Carradine and Lana Wood. Steve wrote and acted in the feature film noir comedy "Little Saigon," set to release in 2016.

Bonnie Hargett received her M.A. In English Literature from the University of Houston and her B.A. in English Literature from the University of New Mexico.  She is the producer of the award winning  film, "Show Business."

With Aon Hewitt, Bonnie managed and wrote web content and print communications for Fortune 500 companies. Previously, she led the BP U.S. benefits communication department, managing communications for all U.S. benefit programs and policies through multiple print and electronic channels.

Alexander Tovar, Festival Co-Director

Alexander Tovar is from Los Angeles and wrote his first opera by age 10.  After studying trumpet, guitar, piano, and composition in high school, he went to New York to study and work with Philip Glass.  When he returned to the West Coast, he studied philosophy at PCC and graduated from USC with a BM in Music Composition. 
His music has been played all over the country including on the radio (KUSC) and in front of Disney Hall.   He’s worked with artists such as Van Dyke Parks and Roger Neill.  He recently finished writing the book and music to the musical farce, Mr. Genius. Rob is a graduate of Tisch School of the Arts at NYU where he received the Drama Award for Film and TV. He had a successful career in theater, including two StageSceneLA Awards (one for Best Actor) and a nomination for an Ovation Award for his work in Los Angeles. He is also a Certified Holistic Health Coach and the Managing Editor of the popular website, www.OrganicSoul.com
As a musician, he writes songs for health activism. Rob recently headlined the Rock For Nature concert in Berlin where he performed for over 25,000 people. Khrishna, a native Burbankian. has sold millions of dollars in sponsorship for award shows and sporting events including: The BET Awards, The People's Choice Awards, The NAACP Image Awards and The World Equestrian Games. Khrishna's clients include The Weinstein Company, Paramount Pictures, CBS, Sony and Lifetime. She has established connections and partnerships with top tv, film, food and electronic companies throughout the country and has consulted for independent films and private ventures.

Khrishna recently completed her role as production executive for the latest John Stevenson (Kung Fu Panda, Shrek) and Phil Lazebnik (Mulan, Prince of Egypt) project, where she sought out and developed relationships with film investors across the country.

Khrishna trained as an actor with legendary acting coaches in both Los Angeles and NYC, which gave her a passion for and knowledge of the craft of storytelling. Her hope is to push artists and ideas into the forefront that will enlighten audiences and shatter paradigms worldwide.

She is currently working on an Untitled Competition Reality Show with the producers of The Amazing Race, RuPaul's Drag Race and The Great Escape.

Sarah Barness is a New York-based writer and editor for AshtonKutcher's digital media publication A Plus. She was formally an editorfor The Huffington Post, and before that worked at the Los AngelesSundance Film Institute in programming. She has a love for film andwriting, but when she's not watching a good indie or working on herscience fiction novel, she's sitting on her stoop playing the banjo,with her Saint Bernard standing by, drooling.

Leticia is a remarkable film reviewer.  This is her 3rd year with the festival, and all her reviews are extremely thorough, fair and insightful. Graduating in Psychology, Leticia post-graduated in cinema and studied at NYFA before filming her debut documentary in Brazil in 2013.

William Foard, Judge

Maverick designer/entrepreneur William Foard has a lifetime of creative promotion and media production: everything from falling off the stage at a Doctor Hook concert in Rulo, NB, to performing for President Harry Truman, to creating and syndicating a national radio talk show.  He’s organized several corporations including Communication Design Associates and Foard Entertainment Network. 

 

Foard “got off the boat” in LA as a creative consultant to the Los Angeles Times and has designed looks, feels and promotions for a vast array of theatrical productions, media organizations,  events and personalities in his 40-year career.

Sabrina Culver, Judge

Sabrina recently produced and acted in the short "Addiction." She studied classical piano from a very early age and always loved musical theatre appearing in community and school productions before attending Emerson College in Boston. Commercials and print modeling during college led to becoming one of 5 finalists in a Wella Balsam nationwide "We're Looking for Faces " contest spots for Right Guard, Chevrolet, Correctol, Miller Light Beer, dozens of other commercials , print jobs, music videos as well as a coveted role as the young Marilyn Monroe in a film "Broken Dreams" followed.

Martin Dingle-Wall, Judge

Marty is an actor and producer, known for The Makeover (2009), Cops LAC (2010) and The Nothing Men (2010).  He recently finished shooting "Strangerland," where he performed opposite Joseph Fiennes and Nicole Kidman. He also happens to be a juror for the Emmy's as well.

Matthew Tropp, Digital Marketing

Matthew Tropp has been involved in the digital media genre for over 20 years.  He is well-versed in almost every aspect of digital media from journalism, mass media, video production, video editing, marketing, advertising sales, business expansion strategy, graphic design, publication design, branding, package design, campaign management and relationship development. His working roster contributed to successfull relationships related to almost every celebrity chef, Food Network, Bravo TV, Travel Channel and covering theTaste, LA Food & Wine Festival and more.

 

Sean Flanagan, Judge

For the past two years, Sean has helped distribution company Cinema Libre Studio develop marketing, publicity and social media campaigns for over 40 documentaries and independent films that went to theaters, DVD and on demand platforms. These included the HBO political thriller Days of Grace, the rockumentary Cant Stand Losing You: Surviving The Police, and the award-winning film Olivdados, currently in theaters.

 

Sean began his career with internships at Fox News, Time Out Magazine and apprenticing with Ross Katz during post production on the Golden Globe, Emmy, DGA and SAG award winning HBO film, Taking Chance. After graduating from New School University with a degree in Creative Writing and Media Studies, Sean began working in production for clients that included Sports Illustrated, IMG Fashion Week, Gannett News, and MTV as well as countless independent shorts, music videos and commercials. Moving to Los Angeles in 2011, he worked with Ridley Scott Productions and NBC’s The Biggest Loser, as well as many independent projects. 

 

On the writing side, he has had half a dozen TV and feature projects in development with companies including DRO Entertainment, Pavement Studios and Silverline Cinema. He recently helped develop the upcoming film The Ends, set to be directed by Sundance Award winning director Chris Eyre and his most recent screenplay, Burning the River, was a semi-finalist for the Sundance Writers Lab.

Gian Franco Tordi, Corporate Sales

Gian Franco is an American actor, comedian and writer. He was born in Switzerland to Italian parents. Prior to moving to LA Gian was an avid soccer player and for many years, a professional snowboarder and skier. Gian Franco speaks and writes six languages fluently.

 

Gian Franco studied acting at the New York Film Academy, at UCLA, and took numerous professional acting workshops in Hollywood. Throughout his career as a professional comedian and actor, Gian has gathered Stage, Film and TV experiences. His credits include the Lead role in “Luigi,” a union play in Los Angeles, where he received great reviews for his outstanding comedy performance.

 

He has been featured in several roles in films such as Oceans Twelve, The Good German and Tesla the Superman (he plays Tesla). His TV experience includes General Hospital and Monday Mornings. Gian has also been in several commercials, including Chase Sapphire.

Liana Arauz, Judge

Liana is a multi-lingual film and theater actress that has work in Japan, US and various countries in Latin America. She trained with Academy Winning Director, Mike Nichols, and has had the opportunity to work with various other award wining directors and playwrights. She has appeared on film, television and numerous commercial. Her most recent work Stealth just received a Student Academy Award for Best Narrative Short, along with two Emmy Awards. In addition to performing Liana also has experience in writing, producing and directing short plays and movies.
